We are delighted Stephen Lloyd MP attended our last working group meeting for Eastbourne’s first Disabled Access Day Event on 16th March in The Beacon to give his support. We already have the support from local Councillors, particularly from Cllr Janet Coles, EBC Disability Champion.
We have many local groups, charities and partners who want to get involved in the day. Here are a few – Eastbourne Blind Society, East Sussex Hearing Resource Centre, Wheels for All, Defiant Sports, Embrace, Shopmobility, Stagecoach, Allied Mobility, Sussex Police and partners from health.
We plan four Zones in The Beacon – Getting Around, Keeping Active, Local Support and Health and Wellbeing.
We also appreciate the massive support The Beacon are giving this event and the encouragement to their tenant retailers to also take part to showcase their services to disabled people.
We invite disabled people to get involved hopefully you have already saved the date so please come to The Beacon and bring your family, friends and carers with you to celebrate our Disabled Access Day Event with us and discover the meaning behind the slogan ‘You and Somewhere New’.
Where will you go or do to try somewhere new?
